Duffy’s Celebration

This week we had a Duffy’s Celebration. Duffy is a speacial person who gives us free books so we can read since 1999. We started to make party hats and design boxes. The school started to help so the school started decorating and getting gifts to put around the hall for Duffy’s 30th birthday. And the vistors came to the hall and then the owner of mainfreight came. And we sing the Duffy song and we put the chairs and the vistor too. And after we finished the Duffy song, We have to sing happy birthday in engilsh and maori and then Duffy cut the cake and then they take the photo of the school in the hall and we met the police man and mainfreight started 1987 and the person who sound like donald duck is the owner of mainfreight and the school had penty of cake sent each class.

I enjoyed doing the Duffy’s 30th birthday because we sing the happy birthday to duffy.

 

Comrades Marathon

This task we have read about Comrades Marathon. We have to watch a video about the comrades marathon and we make a predictions of the comrades and we define the words like endurance it means runinng without getting tired and we finshed all the questions and write if our predictions are correct and we have to write fast facts under 2 mins.

I enjoyed this activiy because Marathons are like long races.

Poros of Malia DLO

For this task we have to make a dlo about who is Poros Of Malia. Poros of Malia was a well known man in the ancient olympics . He had a story about he was goinmg to lose the race and Poros was afriad at loseing because people would laugh at him and he clear his mind and focus on the race and he won the race he got a wreath leaf olive and other reawrds

I enjoyed this activiy because he was focus on the race so he coudn’t lose.

I find this activiy fun because it about a man who won the race.

Roise Ruiz

This week we read a book is turth based about i girl whose name is Rosie Ruiz who cheated in a bostan marathon. We write our predictions about what the story going to be and we use the comment tool to write our predictions and we define words and answer the questions and we read all the text about Rosie Ruiz and we write the six sentance on the lines.

I found this activiy good because she took the subway and got spot by the people.

Violet Walrond

LI: To practise skimming and scanning by looking for key words in the text when answering questions

Our guided reading text was Violet Walrond. We worked collaboratively as a group to unpack the text and answer questions using evidence from the text to support our thinking. All our responses were written in the comments tool and we have to do the y chart about the frozen image of the Violet Walrond and in the y chart it says bout she thinks, feel or see and wonder ina group. We have to define the words like what it means, And we have to anwser the questions with using a coment tool.

Something I found interesting about this text was Violet Walrond is famous in swimming  because she used the a swimming style named the crawl.

Information Report : Bengal Swamp Tiger

LI: to write an information report that informs the reader about the Swamp Tiger.

We used our smart searching skills to find facts about the Bengal Swamp Tiger. Once we had found the information we needed we made notes in our own words. We used these notes to help us write our information reports. Information reports give readers withe information on a chosen topic by providing them facts.

Swamp Tigers or Panthera Tigris Tigris was found in Asia and can breathe only 1 minute in the water. They can live in mangroves and there are 100 of them. They are good at hunting foods. Are you aware that swamp tigers can attack?  

Swamp tigers  have orange fur and black stripes to camouflage and they have massive mouths so they can eat food and they have huge eyes when it is time to hunt animals. They have big tongues so their height is ninety or one hundred ten but their weight is  two hundred or two hundred sixty. Did you know they hide in the mangrove tree? 

Swamps tigers are carnivore and eats deer, wild pig, wild oxen, mammals, birds, fishes, cats, [rare] frogs, turtles, crabs, otters, rats, rhesus and  swamp tigers are good at hunting for prey [Prey means they hunt food] .  

 Swamps tigers are found in India and were found in Asia and can live in hot countries, tropical, mangrove trees, forest, grasslands and sunderban. Swamp tigers have good vision and hunting and hearing too for prey. Why can swamp tigers swim well? 

A swamp tigers’ behavior is stealth, stalk, ambush, hearing, group hunting, silent, fast, swimming and chasing and since swamp tigers can communicate with each other through body language. Did you know swamp tigers have fake eyes?

Did you know swamp tigers like being in the water and feel endangered if they see a human?

Swamp Tigers

LI : To create a multi-modal DLO that tells others about swamp tigers.

Our challenge was to research or multi- modal about the swamp tigers. We get into pairs and we watch the swamp tiger video and we take notes and research about the swamp tigers appearance ,  diet, habitat and behavior. We watch swamp tigers videos and wrote about interesting facts like did you know swamp tigers can’t purr, they can only roar and growl and we attributed the photo and we link on the text box and we have to shared about our DLO.

I enjoyed because swamp tigers can be in a hot countries or tropical.

 

Taniwha names

LI : To design our name as a taniwha.

Today my activiy was to design my taniwha names and by making a taniwha name i mean the google. I had to think a taniwha name and it had a head as A and the tail as in a H.

I enjoyed because I learn how to design nice things.

Vision Boards

LI: To create goals to achieve at the end of the year.

This task was to create a vision boards.

A vision boards is like your achieve at the end of the year. In vision board I want to be a Coryxkenshin who is funny, skilled, fast reflexes, kind and respectful. I also want to go one tree hill collage to achieve my goals and i also want to be a smarter, healthier and stronger.

I enjoyed because it tells about achieve my goals.
