Procedural Writing

LI: To write a set of clear instructions that show how to make a hangi.

  1. You need to dig a pit.
  2. You have to stack up some twigs and put volcanic rocks on top and light the twigs on fire
  3. After it’s done you have to put the volcanic rocks in the pit  and then put meat and vegetables in the pit (on tray)
  4. You have to put the  layers of cloths on the trays and you have to put the dirt on the pit
  5. After 3 hours you have to remove the dirt and the cloths you are done and  you can eat kia

DO NOT LEAVE THE HANGI UNATTEND

Today we unpacked how to follow and write a set of instructions. To do this effectively your instructions need to be explicit and the steps to follow ordered. Each step begins with an instructional verb and should be written in a way that is easy to understand.

I enjoyed Procedural because we have to listen the our steps slowly.

Research about Scurvy

LI: To understand what a balanced diet looks like and why it is important for human health.

For our first Inquiry topic for Term 2 we did a study about what a scurvy is a disease caused from vitamin C. how can people get affected, the people will get vitamin c . And what can we do to avoid it. We wrote did you know facts to help us be able to learn about scurvy such as, eating fruits. Did you know that scurvy can occur at the age of 6 to 12 months. Scurvy is caused by lack of Vitamin C for at least 3 months. I was mostly common for pirates/sailors.

I found this activity good because we have to eat the fruits.

ClassRooms Expectations

LI: To follow the classroom rules and expectations (including wet day procedures)

This week we did a PB4L poster discussing about the Class Expectations and Rules and why they’re important to follow. This poster is also about respecting the teachers and pupils in the classroom. An example of this is respecting the class room and It is important to follow these because you will be kind and helping people.

I found this activity good because we have to follow the rules at schools.
